Leadership Lake County, Inc. is a community leadership program by local leaders designed to identify and develop through training the leadership potential in our county. Individuals with diverse backgrounds who have demonstrated the ability to assume leadership roles are selected to participate. Also included are individuals who have distinquished themselves as leaders in our community. It is expected that through this program, the participants will develop an awareness of the dynamics of socio-economic changes and how they impact our community.

Volunteer Opportunities

Again this year LLC is partnering with the Lake County Council on Aging to deliver "Meals on Wheels" on Friday, November 27^th, 2009, the day after Thanksgiving. Giving just two hours of your time allows those who deliver meals on a daily basis a well deserved break. These volunteers provide a true lifeline to Lake County's older adults. They help them maintain independence. Training is required and necessary; our session is scheduled for November 4^th, at 6 p.m.at the Lake County Council on Aging office, 8520 East Avenue, Mentor, Ohio. Last year class members Bruce Wilson and Janis Thiedemann turned this volunteer opportunity into a family affair. They included their children in the meal deliveries and reported it was not only a rewarding experience, it helped demonstrate the meaning of giving back to their children. Now more than ever, you too can make a difference to this vulnerable population in your community.
